Here are 3 simple rules that will allow you to prospect better online when you message or text.
These rules work for both warm market AND cold market prospects and are based on fundamental rules of communication.
Rule #1: Keep Message Short
No one likes to read long messages.
They either save them for later and then forget to reply back…
or…
They don’t read them at all!
So instead of writing one long message, you can accomplish the same thing by writing bunch of short messages that go back and forth.
Rule #2: Start With Commonality
People like people who have things in common.
Start the message by sharing something you have in common with that person.
The easiest way to find something in common is to refer back to:
1) A Facebook Group that you’re both in (assuming that is how you met them through CLAM)
2) One of their Facebook Posts
3) Something on their Profile (for i.e. they have kids, they live near you, common interests, etc.)
Remember, Rule #1 though… make sure you make it short when you share!
Rule #3: Always End With a Question
There is a rule that states the person who asks the question controls the conversation.
You make a statement and then always end with a question so that the prospect replies back to you.
