I’m not the smartest nor was I a good communicator…
If you ask my friends back in college, they would be surprised I chose to be a MLM distributor…
And they would be MORE shocked that I actually became successful because I never had any business nor networking skills.
My journey was not easy but once I discovered this 1% Formula, I was able to transform my life and achieve things that others want but can’t get.
Getting to the Top 1%
You are the Top 20% already because you are reading this blog.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, make sure you read and apply the 80-20 Rule (Pareto Principle) to your business and life.
The 80-20 Rule is one of the rules that had the BIGGEST IMPACT ON MY LIFE.
Now, we’re going to extend the 80-20 Rule further…
and this is when it gets interesting…
The Top 20% of the Top 20% of the Top 20%
Inside the origianal top 20% is ANOTHER top 20%!
And within that top top 20%, is another top 20%!
Let me show you some numbers so you get this
20% of 100 = 20
20% of 20 = 4
20% of 4 = .8 (we round up to 1)
100 → 20 → 4 → 1
The actual percentages would be:
20% → 4% → 1%
Applying Formula to MLM
80% of distributors → don’t make any money (not even one check)
20% of distributors → make some money (part time income)
4% → make GOOD money (full time income)
1% → make CRAZY AMOUNTS of money (7 figures)
So the question you should be asking is, how do I get to the top 1%?
Simple Formula to Become Top 1%
Here is a simple formula that will guarantee you will become the top 1%.
FORMULA = Do the Opposite of What Everyone Else Does
If you follow and do what everyone else does, you will get the SAME RESULTS as them!
So if you want to be the top 1%, just look at what everyone else is doing, and don’t do it!
If they are watching TV, then don’t watch.
If they are clicking on this “must see video” on Youtube, then don’t click.
If they are reading the news, then don’t read.
Every leader that has earned over a million dollars in MLM made the decision to be different.
Learn to be comfortable in being “weird” and not doing what everyone else is doing.
I know some of you may embrace this while some of you don’t like to be weird and different.
If you aren’t comfortable with being different, then I’m sorry… success will always run from you. 🙁
How I Became the Top 1%
I’m sharing this with you because it worked for me.
Here are some things I did to become the top 1% in my MLM company.
I was the ONLY person out of all my friends that gave up cable and stopped watching ESPN Sportscaster every night.
I never hung out during my prime prospecting time between 4pm to 530pm.
I never went out with my friends on Friday night until my prospecting goals were accomplished for the week.
No matter how late I hung out on Friday night, I always got up on Saturday morning for our team training calls.
While others read newspapers, I canceled all my newspaper subscriptions and asides from Wall Street Journal, haven’t read a newspaper since 2004.
While others watched the news, I would read a book.
While others listened to music in the car, I would listen to training audios or talk to my downlines.
While others invested in nice fancy vacations, I would invest all my money to travel to seminars instead.
While others slept in, I would wake up early to work out.
While others watched movies, I would work on my business.
While others hung out with their “good old friends” who they’re comfortable with, I would spend my time with mentors and join Mastermind groups with people smarter than me.
While others commented about last night’s game, I would avoid the conversation.
While others did the business once in awhile, I would be consistent 7 days a week.
How to Be Top 1% in Other Areas of Your Life
There are 5 Components to success so I don’t just apply this formula to business.
I apply it to other areas such as spiritual, health, family and finances.
While others wake up and check emails in the morning, I read the Bible and pray.
While others eat whatever they want when they were young, I was a health freak and now I’m way healthier than my friends my age.
while others sleep in, I wake up early to workout.
While others let their kids watch DVDs or play games in the car, my kids are forced to have conversation with me.
While others at my church let their kids eat donuts during break time, I’m the only parent that doesn’t allow my kids to eat that junk.
While others let their kids watch TV so they can have a “happy childhood” we have no TV at home and I buy books instead.
While others speak English to their kids, my wife and I struggled to speak only Chinese at home … but today both my kids are fully bilingual.
While others buy things during sales, I don’t shop and give my money away instead.
While others tip 15 – 20% at restaurants, I tip 30 – 50%.
Applying the Top 1% Formula
I’m not saying I’m better than everyone else, cause I’m not the genius that made this formula up.
I just learned it and applied it.
I’m excited for some of you but worried for others.
Some of you may embrace at this while many will think it’s too weird and not realistic.
I can’t wait to hear about the success for those that apply this.
For those that feel this is too weird, then think about this.
You’ve already made the decision to be different because you chose to be a MLM distributor.
You’re already weird!
You took steps already so keep walking in that direction.
Be different.
Do the opposite of what everyone else does.
I just encourage you to do this for 1 month and you’d get a pleasant surprise.
It wasn’t easy for me at first either but if you stick to it for 1 – 2 months, you’ll realize that it’s not that weird after all cause EVERY SUCCESSFUL person is “weird” and making the decision to be different from the crowd is how you get to achieve what others can’t have.
The definition of success is having things that others can’t have and being different than others.
Isn’t your desire to be in the Top 1% the reason why you’re reading this.
