Importance of Customer Follow-up

Here are some things you can do to convert your one time customers into lifetime customers of your product.
Immediate Customer Follow-up to Prevent Buyer’s Remorse
A mistake that MLM distributors make is that they don’t follow-up with their customers.
They work hard on the presentation and get their customers to purchase, but once the sale is made, these distributors think the job is done and it’s over.
They are wrong.
In fact, the sales process JUST BEGAN.
The most important thing you have to do is to SELL the customer to TAKE the products AFTER they have purchased already.
Why?
Humans have a tendency to not use everything they purchase.
Just think of the new clothes that you purchased but still haven’t worn, the book you got but still haven’t read, or the gym membership that you purchased but never use.
At the spur of the moment people buy things, but once they get home they get distracted or they realize they shouldn’t have purchased the product.
If your customers never use your product, they will NEVER know how good the products are.
Worse, they may even get buyer’s remorse and return the product for a full refund!
You worked super hard to get the initial sale so you don’t want to waste all your hard work by lack of follow-up.
Another mistake that distributors make is that they follow-up too late.
The only time they follow-up is a few days before it’s time for the customer to order again. When you do that, it shows lack of caring for the customer’s needs and that the only thing you care about is another sale.
Fortunately, the follow-up process is much easier and less time consuming.
All you have to do are a few simple things and then you can create the system where your prospects will order over and over again.
3 Step Follow-up Process
Below is an excerpt from a training that I did with one of my MLM NATION Insider coaching members.
I do a weekly training program and from time to time I invite successful members to share with others what has helped their business.
In this exclusive interview you will get to hear from Su Nwe (San Jose, California) who is a MLM leader and co-founder of Era Entrepreneurs.
Su will explain to you her 3 Step Follow-up System with customers.
Su is a Gold Director in her MLM company. In order to reach that rank, she and her team had to generate over $6,250 USD/week in sales for 4 straight weeks, and she had to earn at least $1,000 USD for 4 straight weeks.
In other words, there was a lot of volume and tons of products were sold!
The impressive thing with Su is that she is a quiet girl with a chemical engineering background, and she achieved this rank advancement almost entirely from customer product sales.
In this training video you will learn the following 3 step follow-up process and her referral program.
Follow-up #1: Within 7 Days of Purchase
Follow-up with your customer within the first 7 days after they purchased your product.
Make sure your customer has received the product and they don’t have any questions.
Your goal is to let them know they made the right decision to purchase your product.
Follow-up #2: 2 Weeks After Purchase
This can be a quick call or text just to make sure the customer is doing okay and consuming the product.
Often the customer may not return your call, but this follow-up is still important because you let them know that you care about them.
Follow-up #3: 3 1/2 Weeks → 4 Weeks After Purchase
The purpose of this follow-up is to make sure the customer has had a great experience and is ready to order again for the following month.
Most customers forget to reorder or they may order too late.
It’s important for your customer to always have the product and not miss a day of the product.
Once they get in the habit of not taking the product anymore, it’s easy for them to cancel.
A key to customer retention is creating the habit to take the products regularly.
The last follow-up is also important because it allows you to ask for referrals.
If your customer loves the product, they may even be interested to join as distributors so that they can get the products for free.
If your customers don’t want to join as distributors, there is also creative ways where you can create a Referral Program that will benefit both you and your customers.
Referral Program
Su has 2 important parts to her referral program.
1) Rewards for Referrals
She gives a free product to any existing customer that gives a referral. By doing this, instead of just getting “names,” she ensures her customers give her VERY GOOD prospects.
People will do so much more for you if you care about them and also give something of value to them.
2) She Contacts the Referrals
Don’t rely on your customer to contact their friends to refer the products.
Your customers are not properly trained and don’t know how to talk about the benefits of the products.
Su contacts all the referrals she gets and towards the end of the training program she reveals her ASTONISHING conversion rate.
