Found the Wright Way… From professional bodyboarder to MLM Leader
by Jeremy Wright (Long Beach, California, USA)
I grew up in Long Beach, California, and fell in love with the sport called bodyboarding. I became decent at it, got sponsored at the age of 15, and turned pro at 18. I traveled around the world, competed, went on magazine and video trips, and had a ton of fun! During this time I also went to school, mostly online, and graduated from the University of Phoenix with a BA in Business Management. At age 23, I suffered a back injury that prevented me from doing what I loved, which was bodyboarding. I got really depressed, still had a ton of debt from school, and gained 35 pounds.
I was introduced to the company I am now partnered with by a lifeguard at the beach, who recognized me from newspaper articles and magazines. He straight up called me FAT, and told me that he could help me get back in shape, get back in the water, and possibly make some money. I met with him, ordered the products, took them, and had the greatest transformation ever! For three months I trained hard, took the products daily, and I lost all the weight I had gained. Nine months after my injury, I was back in the water and traveling again!
My business started to take off because of my experience with the products. Because of how many people I was getting healthy, in my Pirst year, I was able to pay off all of my school loans. I became debt free!
I started network marketing because, with my background in bodyboarding, I had grown accustomed to the freedom of traveling constantly and having fun. I didn’t want to settle into a “job” with a “boss.” I did not want to have someone tell me when to show up, when to pee, when to take my lunch, and when and for how long I can take my future family on vacation. On top of that, I wasn’t going to let someone tell me how much I was worth!
I already knew that network marketing worked because my mentor Soomin had a ton of success in it. And the lady that introduced him to the business was already a self-‐made millionaire, and her background was nursing!
This industry has produced the most self-‐ made millionaires in America, period. The company I partnered with has personally made over 250+ self-‐made millionaires, and that got me even more excited! I thought of all I could do with that kind of money: Give more to my church, my family, and make sure my future family had options, like where to live, what food to buy, what clothes to get, etc. Since I am not a quitter, I knew that I could make this happen, too! I understood that network marketing was a journey, a learning process, and that success wouldn’t come overnight.
Residual income: that is a word I did not know. Once I heard it, I googled it right away and found out that authors, music artists, and actors get residual income. I also learned that one way an average person like me is able to get residual income is by plugging into a company that has a unique and consumable product that people want to re-‐order. I get credit for every single order, and I get paid over and over. That got me excited; it seemed unreal!
This journey is a rollercoaster at times, but I always remind myself, “When was the last time I got paid for what I did in 2010? NEVER!” The Pirst customer that I brought to my company loves the products, and is still ordering every single month. Guess who gets credit for that? ME! I spoke to her two or three times, and she has been ordering every month for 19 months now! That is just one small example of residual income! What if you created a team of people doing the same as you? I know you have goose bumps just thinking about it! I love this business!
It Was Time to Create a New Me
Self-development is the biggest factor in my success for sure. It is my time to create a new me. Literally, with all the resources out there, we can learn what we want when we want. It’s all about learning how successful people do the things that you want to do. Once you Pind a system, do it over and over again until you create your own success.
One thing Robert Kiyosaki said really hit me: the economy is not the issue, the issue is you! It made sense because I would always complain to my parents that no one was hiring; I couldn’t get a job, etc. However, the reality is that I needed to build SKILLS. My personal development time is what helped me learn about the skills I needed to acquire to become the person I wanted to be.
To anyone who is new to Network Marketing, I always recommend Darren Hardy’s audio CD “Making the Shift.” It is so good. It will tell you what to expect, what you will experience, and the potential of this business! On top of that, Jim Rohn and Robert Kiyosaki are in there bringing it and educating you.
This is a lifetime journey, but the fact that the old me is nothing like the new me is exciting. The vision that I have for myself is beautiful, and there is no way my mindset could catch up with that vision if it wasn’t for personal development. Robin Sharma’s book, “The Greatness Guide,” is a book that really means a lot to me. I purchased it while I was in Australia traveling, and I have now read it nine times at least. I love the saying, “better your best.” If everyday you strive to be better than you were the day before, you will see results. The saying, “your input will determine your output” is TRUE. The story you tell yourself is the person you will become. Fill and feed your mind with personal development and watch your business and life skyrocket!
Expanding Your Brain
Daily I love how personal development has taught me to make it a priority. I don’t even second-‐guess to pick up a book for at least an hour a day anymore because I know what it does for me. Once your brain is expanded and it sees possibilities, instead of always looking at probabilities, you know you are going to make it big. Personal development shows you what others have accomplished, and how you can have their results or more!
What I’m Currently Reading Now
One book that has changed the way I think and do life, as well as changing my spiritual, family, social, education, physical, career and Pinancial goals, is “”The 10x Rule” by Grant Cardone! This book showed me how not to just take action, but take ten times the amount of action to get to where I want to go. Live a 10x life and watch yourself achieve your dreams and goals faster!
