I recently got this question from PK, who is one of my 5 Star Mastermind Coaching members from Singapore.
I've encountered analytical types prospects who said they would do their own online research. They come back to say so&so say our business model doesn't work, the company's a scam, etc & sometimes quote these sources, e.g. MLM watchdog. I even had one who said Lyle McWilliam has links to USANA and that's why we get 5-stars and is the Editor's choice.
What do you say to these prospects to counter or deal with the objection based on these misinformation they find on the web or just based on their biased perception?
The Mindset You Must Have Regarding Prospects
Before I give the answer to how to deal with super analytical negative prospects, I want to share an important mindset that you should adopt.
Plenty of Interested People Interested in Network Marketing
There are over 70 million people worldwide that are involved in Direct Selling (according to Direct Selling Assocation).
There are 2 big lessons you can learn:
1) 70 million is a LOT of people and that proves that there are TONS and TONS of people that are interested and open minded to join a networking marketing business.
2) Every one of those 70 million COULD have been in your downline!
But the only reason they are not is because you did not have the time to find ways to get them.
This is even more obvious when you attend your International Convention and see thousands of distributors.
You have to remind yourself that EACH ONE of those distributors COULD HAVE BEEN in your downline!
And there are millions more out there who has not even heard of network marketing that you could sponsor!
But you got to take the time to either network or advertise to find them!
Lack of Time is Only Limiting Factor
There are millions of distributors out there but you ran out of time.
If you had the time, you could have found these distributors.
Money is not the issue… nor the lack of motivated prospects. It is the lack of time.
Money is not an issue cause you could have borrowed the money to travel or advertise and make that money back once you sponsored these people.
It is important to realize that TIME is the only thing that holds us back and that is why time management is so important.
It is not lack of skills or resources but lack of time that affects our income.
Dealing with Super Analytical Prospects that are Negative
To answer your question on what to do with that prospect, it's probably not what you want to hear.
Here is my answer:
Just leave the prospect and move on!
It's HIS loss!
He is not worth your time and you will never be able to convince him.
And even if you could convince him, it would take TREMENDOUS amounts of time and zap your mental energy.
He will drain you, make you miserable and frustrated.
Why he is not worth it?
Because while you are wasting your time and wasting your life away with him the next superstar leader could be walking in front of you but you had no time to talk to him cause you are still on the phone fighting with this negative prospect.
Remember, there are 70 million people already involved in direct selling and millions more waiting for you to tell them about your opportunity.
Don't waste time on bad prospects.
Networking marketing is a great business and EVERYONE can be successful but it NOT meant for everyone.
So move on and find your next superstar somewhere else. He is waiting for you!
