A Great Time with “The Movement”
I had a great time this past weekend speaking to “The Movement” in Long Beach, California. “The Movement” is a dynamic team led by Helen Yoshihara and her leader Soomin Kim. It’s always an enjoyable experience for me to go there and speak to their group because I have seen how much they have grown over the years.
The power of network marketing is that it can unleash the hidden potential that we are all born with. I still remember the first time I spoke to Helen’s group back in 2007 and how many of her leaders were simply “MLM Babies.”. And just as a parent enjoys watching their kids grow up, it’s been a joy watching Soomin and the rest of their team grow, learn and mature into leaders and “MLM Adults.”
Success = Hard Work + Sacrifices
The key point I talked about in my training was a NO HYPE NO BS formula to success in MLM.
Success = Hard Work + Sacrifices!
What a surprise!!!
This sounds so common sense and it is… but somehow because of either our laziness or our desire for “something for nothing” we fall into temptation or even worse, we lie to ourselves thinking that success requires little work. We fall into temptation and start looking at “magical systems” or courses that teach you how you can do it with little or no work.
I’m so sick of the hype and bull out there…
The secret to success is NO secret at all!
You need to work hard and you need to make the sacrifices so that you have the time to commit to your network marketing business.
It is simple as that… there is NO HYPE and NO BULL and if you read anything on the internet how this “magical” system can make things easier for you, etc, then it is all BS. There are no free lunches and no shortcuts in life. There are systems and skills you MUST learn in order to be successful but at the end of the day, it all comes down to a simple formula:
Success = Hard Work + Sacrifices!
I shared numerous examples of sacrifices that I had to make in the short term in order for me to become one of the top earners in my network marketing company. The good news about MLM is that those sacrifices are short term. Once I built up my business, I can now go back and enjoy a lifestyle that is way better than my life before. But I HAD TO MAKE the sacrifices.
We do not live in a world of entitlement. Get over it! You are NOT entitled to be successful just because you joined your MLM company. You are NOT entitled to the big paychecks. Nope. You are ENTITLED TO NOTHING!
But what you DO HAVE is a great opportunity where you can:
– Enjoy the benefits of the products
– Meet other successful people
– Learn new skills that will benefit both your business and personal life
– Create a business that can reward you for life
Don’t Make the Same Big Mistake
The biggest mistake that people make is when they set goals. People love to write goals about what they want… but they FORGET that we only have 24 hours in a day and that in order to get something we must give something up in the short term. You may have to give up your favorite TV show or one of your hobbies but the good news is that the sacrifice is only short term. Once you achieve your success, you can go back and spend as much time on the things you had given up on.
But for now… you have to make sacrifices.
Success = Hard Work + Sacrifices!
By the way, isn’t this the same formula that applies to ANY type of business? What makes MLM any different?
The Good News
The good news is to think of the other scenario you face.
Whether you like it or not, you have to pay a price. Either pay the price and make the sacrifices NOW so that you can achieve the success and freedom you desire or you can pay the price and work 40 years at a corporate job and retire with little. Just look at the people who are struggling around you? You can choose to be like them or choose to create your own future.
What do you choose?
What sacrifices are you going to make today?
Sincerely,
P.S. Struggling with time management? Love this post Simon. It’s to the point and the truth. I run into the “entitled” people all the time as I grow my business. I guess you have to take the good and the bad as long as you learn from the bad.
