Or maybe… you’re asking yourself:
“Why do I need to become an expert? Isn’t MLM just about talking to people and sharing our products and opportunity?”
Becoming an expert is very important because people only buy your products or join your business if they:
1) Know you
2) Like you
3) Trust you
When you become an expert, it will grow your business because people will:
1) Get to know you more
2) Like you more
3) Trust you more
Realize that Being an Expert is All Relative
There are many different types of experts out there:
1) Someone who has done it
A great example is Warren Buffet who is the most successful investor of all time.
2) Someone who studies and reports on the topic.
Examples of such experts are writers, reporters or teachers
Some examples are Napoleon Hill who studied the wealthy and wrote about what he learned or a football reporter who knows all the ins and outs of the sport he covers 24/7, or math teachers that teach math even though they may never have gotten a PHD in mathematics.
3) Someone who is currently doing it
This expert is someone who is currently investing now and knows way more than the average person.
So which expert are YOU?!
Even if you are a new distributor you can be an expert and be #3.
It doesn’t matter what type of success you have so far. You are an expert COMPARED to the general public.
If you’re reading this, chances are you already know 100 times more about MLM than the average person on the street. You also know way more about your products and the industry than most people.
You are an expert compared to everyone else.
Remove the Mindset that You are Not An Expert
If you have any mental barriers that you are NOT an expert then I want you to remove those barriers RIGHT NOW.
You already know more than most people so that qualifies you to be an expert and to teach others.
It’s just like the math teacher that we talked about. That 5th grade math teacher is an expert relative to his 5th grade class. All the students should listen to him.
You are an expert in your industry and your prospects should listen to you as well.
5 Ways To Become an Expert
Here are 5 simple ways to quickly become an expert:
1) Invest in Self Development
Study and learn daily.
Read books, attend trainings, go to events, and always invest in your self education on your expertise.
If you want to become an expert in MLM then go pick up and read a few books on MLM.
If you want to become an expert about health products then go read a few books about health
2) Just Do It
Go and do the 5 Core Daily Production Activities everyday. The more time you spend on your business, the better you will become and the more your expertise will increase.
3) Create Content
Creating content means sharing your ideas and thoughts about your expertise.
This can include posting consistent social media content, writing a weekly email to your team, posting a blog, doing a presentation, etc.
4) Find a Mentor
Find a mentor that you have regular access to so that you can continually get new ideas and feedback on how to get better.
You can join a group of top leaders like the Advanced MLM Leadership Mastermind or you can join a group of entrepreneurs that are NOT in MLM.
You can often get big aha moments from people that are OUTSIDE the MLM industry. You can take their ideas and apply it to your business.
5) Teach and Mentor Others
The last way to accelerate and market yourself as an expert is to teach.
The more you teach the better you will get.
That’s one of the reasons why I always speak as much as possible because it keeps my skills sharp.
Teaching and helping others is always a great way to market yourself.
