I was really discouraged after meeting this prospect.
It made me want to quit MLM.

But first… let me get back to what happened…
This was way back when I first started…
I was sitting in a Starbucks in downtown Los Angeles talking to one of my first prospects on my contact list.
This was in December 2003 and I had spent days preparing for my presentation.
I would talk on and on and on but Johnny wasn’t interested to hear more about my MLM business.
Heck, he was barely pay attention to what I was saying!
That made me mad.
I had spent so much time preparing and didn’t even sleep well the night before of this meeting and all Johnny was doing a poor job pretending to be interested.
To make it worse…
Johnny wasn’t the first prospect that did that to me.
The few people that I did talk to in my first 2 months in MLM were the same way.
They never paid attention to me when I invited them or when I presented to them.
Can you relate to my pain?
And then the big changed happened in late Jan. 2004.
And that’s I’m going to share with you today.
I started sponsoring people with ease when I discovered what it takes for prospects to get curious and pay attention to you.
That’s when I realize that you must have POSTURE when you prospect.
No One Is Interested When You Have No Posture
The reason your prospect aren’t paying attention to you is because you’re being too desperate and needy.
Do you know a friend that is needy and always ask for things?
Have you ever paid attention to him?
Or even respected him?
Most likely not… and unfortunately that’s what most MLM distributors do and why they fail.
In order to be successful in sponsoring you must have posture.
Once you have posture, you will find prospects will respect you more.
Here are 5 ways you can get prospects to start paying attention to you.
1) Being Confident
Posture starts with your vision of success and the confidence that you display.
And you SHOULD be confident.
Cause there are billions of people in this world for you to talk to!
There are tons of prospects out there!
That was my first big aha moment when I went to my first company convention in Sept. 2004.
I walked into the stadium and it was packed with over 10,000 distributors!
I was shocked…
I couldn’t believe it!
I was struggling and could barely find people who were interested to hear a presentation…
It seemed like NO ONE in the world was interested in MLM.
And yet, inside this stadium was over 10,000 that happily joined and even invested money to attend an event!
I asked myself, “Where in the world did they find these people?!!”
And that’s when I had my first big aha moment.
All these people could have been in my downline!
I could have networked my way or ran ads to find them but I didn’t because I wasted my time on poor prospects or trying to motivate downlines that never did anything.
Time is our ONLY limited resource so we have to use our time wisely because there are TONS of people out there who are hungry to join!
If you listen to some of the great training episodes of MLM NATION you’ll realize that most of these top income earners weren’t negative.
Most MLM Millionaires were open for opportunity and for someone to approach and sign them up.
So that means the next superstar leader could be walking in front of you right now
That alone should give you confidence.
There are literally billions of people for you to reach out to and even if you talk to 10 people a day you won’t have enough days in your life to talk to and sign everyone up.
You’d run out of time cause there are TONS of prospects out there for you!
But you have to talk to them…
Which leads me to the second lesson about posture.
2) You Don’t Need Them
What does it mean to have posture?
My favorite definition of posture is…
“You don’t need them but they need you!”
You’ve got the best business and top quality products that can change someone’s life.
Your prospects NEED YOU but you don’t need them!
Cause you have billions of people to talk to!
You don’t need your prospect to join because you’d never run out of prospects in this world…
But your prospect only has YOU cause your opportunity is the best.
This simple shift in mindset will totally change you from being needy and desperate to someone who is confident and not afraid of rejection.
You don’t need them but they need you!
3) Reject Them Before They Reject You
Because you don’t need them but they need you, learn to disqualify your prospects QUICKLY.
You must reject them before they reject you!
If your prospects are giving you a hard time, not paying attention or having tons of objections, just take the business away from them.
Learn to say,
“I hope you won’t be offended but you don’t seem to be the person we’re looking for. Maybe we can stay in touch and things will change 6 months from now.”
Reject them before they reject you!
Just watch your prospect’s face the next time you TAKE AWAY the opportunity from them!
If they just end the meeting then that’s great because every bad prospect is stealing your time. (you have billions of people to talk to and eager to join)
The cool thing is that when you reject prospects, some may immediately start paying attention to you!
That’s cause of psychology.
Most people don’t like it when they have things taken away from them.
So learn to…
Reject them before they reject you!
4) Don’t Talk Too Much
Another way to have more posture and have your prospect pay attention to you is NOT to talk too much.
When you talk too much you becoming needy and nagging.
Instead, learn to listen more and use tools to do the presenting.
The more you talk, the needier and more desperate you sound.
And remember, you don’t need them but they need you!
When you speak less, this leads to the last way to get prospects to pay attention to you
5) Always Be In a Hurry
Most distributors spend WAY TOO MUCH TIME with their prospect.
They let presentations drag on and on…
Or they won’t hang up the phone until the prospect commits…
Or they make themselves available to present any minute at any notice.
I’ve seen distributors run to their car so they can immediately present to a cold market stranger they just met on the grocery line!
Why is this bad?
Because people are always buying YOU!
Would you agree that people like to join successful people?
So, what successful person do you know would spend all day talking to someone?
Would the President of the USA spend hours on the phone with a prospect or would the conversation be quick?
Would the top income earner in your company stay on the phone for hours to answer questions or would he have left long ago for his next meeting?
Would Michael Jordan cancel his plans on the spot to do a 30 minute meeting with a random stranger?
Answer to all the above is “No!”
Successful people are ALWAYS in a hurry because they’re always busy doing the things that make them successful.
So make sure you’re always in a hurry.
When you make yourself available anytime or spend endless hours talking to prospects or downlines, you’re basically sending the signal to the world that you are NOT successful because no successful person does that.
