Overcoming Problems: Making Every Day More Challenging
If you have been feeling down lately, you’re not the only one.
Things have been super tough for me as well.
Lately, I’ve been feeling that every day is the toughest day of my life.
It’s a constant challenge to balance life as an entrepreneur, father, and husband.
There are so many memorable things to do with my son, Ethan, and Obi, my dog.
There are so many experiences to share with my wife, Kelly.
There are so many exciting projects for me to work on in my businesses.
As if that is not enough…
We have another baby coming soon!
When I go to bed each night, it seems only an hour ago that I woke up at 4am to start my day. I always ask myself, did the day really fly by so quickly?
It’s a good feeling to know that my life is exciting. When time flies by, it means that I’m having a blast.
Mo Money Mo Problems
I admit that I felt a bit “down” recently.
For many new entrepreneurs, and especially new MLM distributors, they believe that once you achieve your business goals, you reach nirvana and things becomes easy.
Having reached the top of the MLM profession, I have learned what many other top MLM leaders and financially successful people have discovered.
Life at the top does not become easier.
It becomes MUCH harder.
The late rapper, Notorious B.I.G., together with Mase and Puff Daddy, said it the best in their song, Mo Money Mo Problems.
However, there is a reason why we want these problems.
These problems create a challenge for us, and they make life interesting.
Life is a journey, and it is the thrills that make life memorable and rewarding.
Memories are created when I sacrifice some sleep to spend more time with my son, or I put in some extra hours to hit another business target.
Each day is a challenge, but the challenges make life exciting.
Current Challenges That Make Life Tough Everyday
Lately, what makes life such a daily challenge is the upcoming launch of my second company, MLM Academy.
My business partner, Scott McGee, and I have a huge vision to create a platform to help MLM Leaders market and grow their personal brands.
Tackling business challenges keeps me steadily occupied, but I also find myself busy every day rushing my son, Ethan, to the bathroom every hour as part of his potty training.
I used to say that things were so much easier when I was young and single and had no responsibilities.
Back then, I was totally clueless and wasted my time.
It’s only when I reached subsequent stages in life that I realized what I had and how much easier things used to be in earlier stages.
The paradox is that it’s tough to fully comprehend these challenges until you’re there. I could never have understood the concept of Mo Money Mo Problems until I got to where I am today.
That’s how I learned what it really means when people say that “life is a journey.”
Challenges Prevent Life from Being Boring
People are shocked when I tell them that I embrace and enjoy challenges now.
They ask, “Why? Wouldn’t I want life to be easier?”
If life was easy, then life would not be fun.
An easy life makes a boring life.
When I think back to an “easy” time in my life, I immediately recall my days in elementary school when all I had to do was go to school and do my homework every day. Those were the days when I wanted to act like a grown up but couldn’t. I wanted responsibility and to do the things that adults did, but wasn’t allowed to do them.
Life seemed so boring for me back then. I wanted to “grow up” and have responsibility.
I also look at my beloved grandfather. He is well taken care of and doesn’t need to worry about bills or anything. He has it easy.
Yet, consequently, he is bored every day. His highlight is when he comes over to see me and my son.
Otherwise he is bored because he has no challenges in his life.
Challenges and problems are good. They prevent boredom from creeping into daily life.
Show me someone who is “bored,” and I will show you someone that has no challenges.
Don’t Wish to Go Back to Another Time
When I was younger, I would fall into this trap.
I would think back to “the good ol’ days,” and wish I could go back to when things were easier.
However, we can’t do that because then we fall into the “grass is always greener on the other side” mentality.
The grass is always supposed to be greener on the other side of the fence, but once we get there, we realize it’s not that good.
A great example is relationship challenges with your spouse.
When I was newly married, I was overcome by tremendous relationship issues due to my immaturity and inexperience. My initial reaction was to wish I was single again so that life would be easy and I wouldn’t have to deal with the relationship problems.
However, if I think harder and bring myself back to the days when I was single, I was often lonely and always looking for a soulmate.
Things may have seemed better back then, but they were not.
It’s best to just live in the now and appreciate the challenges. Enjoy the journey of life we take every day.
I’ve learned to accept the problems, and instead of wishing for another scenario, I challenge myself to find the solutions.
That is the only way you can keep growing, get better, and enjoy the journey of life.
You can’t think and want to go back to another time because the sad truth is that, even if you go back, you would not be better!
Don’t fall for the “grass is greener on the other side” trap.

Why I Chose to Live a Challenging Life
Over the years I’ve learned that I could never just “settle down” to sit on a beach and retire.
Of course that would be nice to do for a few days, but if that was all I did, I would be bored to death.
I want challenges and even though they can sometimes get me down, I know that problems make my life more interesting.
They makes me wiser and prevent life from being boring.
We only live once, so it’s best that we use our time wisely.
Challenges make each day interesting and memorable.
That’s why I must make each day harder and harder, never easier.
Go have a challenging and interesting week!
