Chicago, Pizza, & Self-Development!
I was in Chicago for five days this past week for an advanced marketing conference. About 680 entrepreneurs from 12 different countries gathered to learn the latest online marketing strategies and business systems.
It seems like every time I visit Chicago, it’s always cold!
That’s ok though.
The cold and the seasons bring back memories of my childhood growing up in NYC. It’s good to see the leaves change colors.
This may shock you since I very health conscious…
I eat pretty healthy but pizza is one of my weaknesses and Chicago is home to the infamous stuffed pizza.
Aside from Zachary’s in the San Francisco area, Chicago is the only place that I know that you can get this special stuffed pizza. We went to Giordano’s, and afterwards, I was tempted to order a few pies online and have them shipped to my house!
You can check out Giordano’s or Zachary’s. Personally, I like Zachary’s better since it is less cheesy, but I was not complaining. In the five days that I was in Chicago, I had stuffed pizza twice!
Self-Development Is About the One Idea You Get
As much as I love Chicago stuffed pizza, my appetite for self-development is even greater.
I don’t travel much nowadays, but I never pass up a good opportunity to learn. I’ve discovered the reason for my growth in business, and as a person, has been a direct result of my zeal for self-development.
My perspective regarding the cost of learning has changed over the years, and it is a reflection of my growth. I still remember one of the reasons I chose to read Zig Ziglar’s Selling 101 as my first sales book. I bought it because at the time, it was the cheapest sales book I found on Amazon.
Throughout the years, I’ve learned that successful people don’t judge the value of self- development by its content, price, or quantity.
Top entrepreneurs judge the value of an event by the ideas that they get from it.
If they can just get one idea that they can implement, then it is worth it.
Yes, that means even if 99% of the $2,000 course I purchased three days ago was total BS and garbage, it would be worth it if I got one idea from it.
That one idea is worth it because all growth comes from action, and the source of an action is an idea.
So just remember that for the next book you read or the next conference you attend…
Even if 99% of it is useless, all you need is just one idea to make it worthwhile.
This Chicago marketing event cost me over $5,000 for five days, but the two ideas and “Aha moments” that I got definitely justify the price. I’m confident I will get a 10,000% return in the next 12 months. Yes, I’m not exaggerating. I can see an additional $400,000 in revenue once I implement the backend marketing funnels and solidify the systems supporting my two businesses.
Over 10,000 Meetings
This was only my third time flying this year. I just don’t do it much now, since I prefer to spend time with my boys at home.
It’s a big difference from a few years ago when I used to travel all the time to build my global MLM business. Whether it was domestic or international travel, almost all of the traveling was done to build my MLM business.
I’ve calculated that during that time I have literally done over 12,746 business presentations.
Whether they are one-on-one meetings, small home meetings, large hotel meetings, teleconferences, webinars, or luncheon meetings, I have done them ALL!
Due to numerous requests, I have finally combined my knowledge and experience, along with all my notes, and put together a training that teaches MLM distributors how to do profitable opportunity meetings.
The training product is called MLM Meetings Mastery, and it is an A to Z guide that covers all types of meetings. It includes details such as seating arrangements, set-up, product displays, room temperature, etc.
If you are a network marketing distributor, you definitely want to check this out. It will help you sign up more prospects at your next business presentation.
Something Exciting for 2014
It’s mid-November already, and 2013 is almost over. One of my favorite holidays, Thanksgiving, is coming up at the end of the month. This year we plan to celebrate at my cousin’s house, and it will be a big play date for the kids.
I’m also working with my business partner on a major project that will launch on January 31, 2014. It’s only 70 or so days away.
I can’t share anything with you now about it, but it will be very exciting. It has required tremendous amounts of work, but it will be something that will benefit millions and also create a legacy.
Have a great week, and if you are an MLM Distributor, definitely go get MLM Meetings Mastery.
