Today is my anniversary and time flies by so fast. I will be taking a bike ride up the hill to La Venta Inn to revisit where I got married 3 years ago. Time flies by so fast.
Ethan and family is doing well and we are starting to figure out a schedule. I have confirmed that being a “night owl” is NOT my thing… I am most productive early in the morning… so my new schedule is to go to bed around midnight and then when Ethan wakes up in the middle of the night, then I would go back downstairs and sleep with Obi and sleep till 7… that is best way for my body to “function” properly… I tried to be “nocturnal” for a few days and that totally did NOT work!
This past week has been an INCREDIBLE week… so much positive things have happened… the important thing to note is that all these things happened during a VERY critical and INCONVENIENT and CHALLENGING time for me.
But… through this craziness, some truly amazing things have happened.
Most of the time, the best opportunities in life come when you have no money, no time and it is very inconvenient. Because of the bad timing, most people don't take up those opportunities and thus are unsuccessful in life. But for the few people that do make the sacrifices and step outside the comfort zone, the rewards are tremendous and they achieve success.
This past week was one of the best examples…
The past 2 months have been crazy hectic… I've made some business mistakes early this year which was exacerbated by undesirable events that were beyond my control (for example… like having the main speaker at a training event I was hosting to “cancel” on me 3 weeks leading to the event!)… and to make things even busier and hectic (but happier), my first child, Ethan was born!
During these times of challenge, it is easy to become overwhelmed and just give up. But just remember that is you take a step back and relax and focus on the BIG PICTURE, you will find yourself being able to see through the chaos and uncover great opportunities that most people will not see. You will realize a lot of the “small things” don't matter in the long run and this frees you up to re-prioritize and focus on the big opportunity.
During this tough challenging time, I “uncovered” 3 different great opportunities and had the BEST WEEK I've had in a long time.
Some highlights… I stepped onto a golf course and played 9 holes of golf for the first time in my life. I wasn't too good but it was SOOOO much fun!
I also flew to Utah for 1 day to meet the corporate executives that run the company I am partnered with. (USANA Health Sciences). It was an awesome day. I saw the renewed vision of the company and also put myself in a great position for years to come. It was probably one of the best business days in a long time!
Towards the end of the week, I hosted an amazing event called “Diamond University” in Anaheim, California. This was the event that was supposed to have a big name speaker but he had to pull out in the last minute. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we were scrambling to the last minute and had to make format changes. It was crazy! The thought of canceling came across our minds but at the last minute we decided to go through with it but to instill a new training format. But thanks to the great support from my business partners, especially, from USANA, Phil and Penny Kirk, Lori Truman, Paul Dueck, Dr. Karen Wolfe, Michael Callejas, Brian Dixon and Nancy Lee, the event turned out to be a smashing success! Many of the attendees said it was the best training event they have ever had period! The networking and training that came along with the event was unbelievable and I got a lot of it and new friendships and relationships were developed. I could not have asked for anymore more! It was a HUGE SUCCESS beyond anything I imagined!
The ironic thing is that if the original speaker did not pull out, then the new format would never have happened! It was a good thing that we made the event happen!
So that was my week… tired but exciting and very rewarding… and it all happened during one of the most inconvenient times of my life!
Now that it is over, it is time to plan and also to spend some time with Ethan and Kelly! I am so grateful for their support and for 3 years of a happy marriage!
Until next time,
