Ethan is Growing Up Fast
Ethan turned 1 recently and is growing up fast!
He finally started to stand up and can push his little cart and toy train around. He can’t stand on his own 2 feet yet but we think that day is right around the corner!
Ethan is also learning to say different words now. Like his dad, he loves to eat and his favorite words everyday are 包包! (bread)
He also says 爸爸 (daddy) a lot and knows how to say bye bye and wave goodbye!
Everyday we look forward to waking up to see what new words he understands and what sounds he can utter out. It is the joy of being a dad.
Amazed at How Babies Learn
Babies learn sooooo fast. Everyday their brains are developing and learning new skills. It’s really incredible.
It made me think the other day, is there any other period in life where the brain develops and learns so quickly?
Then it made me contemplate the learning phases in life. From a baby’s birth to the age of 18 – 21, we make a conscious effort to put our kids in an environment where they learn everyday. We force them to learn because we know that education and learning is the key to success later in life. Without a solid education or social skills, a child is doomed for failure.
We create an ACTIVE game plan for our kids to learn.
But somehow that magic of proactive learning ends normally around ages 18 – 21 (depending on whether they go to college or grad school). We no longer consciously take a proactive approach to learning. We don’t go to school anymore… we don’t actively seek out books to read… we don’t actively take time to learn new skills.
We DON’T HAVE A LEARNING PLAN ANYMORE!
We allow learning to happen by chance and experience.
Unfortunately those are the worst teachers because they are slow… and if you don’t have the experience, then you never get to learn at all.
What would happen if we made education “optional” to our children and allowed them to learn from chance and experience.
Would they have any chance for success in life?
We put out children in active learning environments the day they are born… so why won’t we do the same to ourselves?!
What You Will Do
I know you want to be successful and stand out from others.
Others may take it easy with their learning but you know how to stand out from the crowd.
You know how… and the formula is simple.
You create a plan to invest time each day to learn specific things that you want to get better in.
If you want to get better in relationships, you study relationships.
If you want to make more sales in business, you read the sales books and attend the seminars so that you can refine your skill.
If you want to grow your business with online marketing, you make the commitment to study online marketing!
Simple as that.
Secret to My Success
The Secret to my success is no secret at all. If you were to attribute 1 thing that helped me, it was my single fanaticism to self development. I feel I can be good at anything but I have to invest time and money to study it first. If I wanted to learn something, I would create a plan and dedicate myself everyday to that plan.
Don’t be Cheap on the Most Important Thing
I have never let money stop me from buying books and courses to get better because I know my knowledge will bring back 100 times more money than what I had invested.
Like they used to say, “Knowledge is Power.”
If I was tight on money, I would eat out less but I would never stop investing in self development.
You can starve my stomach but don’t starve my brain!
So what areas do you need to improve on today?
If you new in network marketing and not sure on what books to read, here is a list of recommended topics.
I look forward to your success!
