Events That Made 2013 Memorable
Happy New Year!
If you haven’t written down your goals yet, then hopefully at least you have asked yourself the Five Important Questions You Must Honestly Ask Yourself so that you can get started on the right track for 2014.
Most readers of my blog are motivated and know the importance of goal setting, so I’m not going to talk about goal setting and New Year’s Resolutions.
Instead, I’m going to share some of my memorable moments from 2013 and what I learned.
Here are my Most Memorable Moments in 2013.
Most Memorable Moment with Ethan, My Son
Jogging along the coast in Monterey, California.
I love the entire area of Monterey, Carmel By The Sea, Pacific Grove, and Pebbles Beach. I used to go there for dream building and relaxation at least once a year.
It was a huge father/ son bonding moment as I got to share nature’s beauty with him. I also felt that part of my legacy and routine was created and passed to him.
Most Memorable Family Moment
The birth of a new son, Brendan.
It was a joy and a new experience to welcome a new addition to our family. It has been fun, and full of challenges, but that is what makes life rewarding and interesting.
Most Memorable Moment with Kelly, My Wife
It’s nothing fancy, but it was our weekly Wednesday lunch dates a few weeks before Brendan arrived.
It was just the two of us, and we would have lunch on a busy strip on Pacific Coast Highway. Afterwards, we would go for a walk.
It was nothing scenic, but it was just sharing the moment together because we knew our lives would change again in a few short weeks.
Most Memorable Daily Moments
Daily naps with Obi!
In 2013, I’ve really embraced the ritual and benefits of a daily 60 to 90-minute nap.
Obi could be anywhere in the house, but when I call out, “Obi, nap,” he runs to me. The second I lie down, he snuggles between my arms.
No wonder they say that dogs are man’s best friend.
As a kid, I loved stuffed animals and wished they could be real. Moving forward 30 years, I got my wish in Obi! 🙂
Most Memorable Travel
Going on a three-city MLM Training tour in Australia in May 2013.
I really love Australia and, even though each of my stays in Melbourne, Perth and Sydney were short, they were filled with time with great people.
Australia is a beautiful country, and I plan to go back in late March 2014 for another three-city tour where I will be hosting training sessions on MLM prospecting, wealth concepts, and leadership routines. If you are interested in these upcoming sessions, please contact me and ask for more details.
Most Memorable Lesson Learned
It was a reminder of what Tom Peters said, “What doesn’t get track doesn’t get improved.”
I’ve always loved to track and keep stats, and it played a huge part in my MLM success and the creation of my 5-5-3 Prospecting Routine. However, in 2013 I took it to the next level.
I really discovered that the more detailed my tracking can be, the greater the improvements I see.
If there is anything in life that you want to improve, you simply just take the time to manually track it and look at those numbers daily.
The more you look at them, the more your subconscious mind will program you to do the activities that improve those numbers.
In 2013, I’ve taken my Extreme MLM Productivity Regimen to another level by tracking and categorizing every activity I do each second.
That may seem daunting, but thanks to the Eternity app on my iPhone, it is easy.
At the end of each night, I look at the reports, studying them to see where my seconds went and whether I fully maximized my time that day.
If you want more time in your life, I highly recommend you get my EXTREME MLM PRODUCTIVITY REGIMEN and supplement that with the Eternity app.
You can test out the free version of Eternity, but afterwards, make sure you get the full, paid version of Eternity. $10 may seem like a lot, but you will easily get the money back in a day.
The results will shock you. It did for me, and it allowed me to make instant improvements.
Most Memorable Purchase
I should say “purchases.” I went online and purchased over $400 worth of Legos as Christmas gifts for Ethan.
Actually, thinking back, Ethan is still too young to really understand the Christmas gift thing. I wanted Christmas to come more than he did! Everything from shopping online, to hiding the gifts, to wrapping the gifts, and then surprising him with them, it was so enjoyable.
This was Ethan’s first “real” Christmas where he was old enough to understand what was going on, and I had a great time.
When Christmas time came, I was delighted to see Ethan surprised and happy as he opened up his gifts. 🙂
His joy and laughter was priceless.
Most Memorable Book I Read
I read over 53 books in 2013, and there is no clear cut winner. If I had to pick one that had the biggest impact on me, it would be “Built to Sell” by John Warrillow.
It opened my eyes to the myths and reality of most businesses and what you must really do if you want to cash out for millions.
Most Memorable Work Moment
I love what I do so work is never work to me.
The most memorable moment was being in Vancouver for New Year’s Day in January 2013.
While others were partying and hanging out, I was in the storage basement of my in-laws’ house working on the computer and building a second profitable business.
Most of the training programs that have helped other MLM distributors and the advanced online marketing you see on my website were created while others were playing.
Growing up as a NBA fan, I was always inspired by the former NBA great Karl Malone. While others played and relaxed, he spent extra hours in the gym.
His motivation that drove him was, “Every second there is another player out there that is working hard and trying to steal my job.”
Since I first learned that in high school, it has always been my motivation.
While others play, I work. That’s why I get to do things that others don’t get to do.
A great example of the rewards of hard work and doing the opposite of what others do is my weekday lunches with my wife. While others are stuck in a cubicle at work, I can have lunch with my wife, or take my son to the gym, or go to Disneyland trips, etc.
There were many other memories, but those are the ones that stick out for 2013.
What were your top memories?
Have a prosperous New Year!
God Bless,
Simon Chan
